Overcoming Barriers (OCB) will host the High Conflict Divorce Camp June 29-July 3, 2012, in Sonoma County, CA. We expect six to eight families to participate in this, our first program on the West Coast.

The High Conflict Divorce Camp is one of the three child centered programs developed by OCB for families in conflict. The weekend program Forging Families’ Futures and the 12-week program Repairing Disrupted Family Relationships are running on the East Coast this year.

The Joseph Drown Award Honoree for 2012

Dr. Sullivan was honored with the Joseph Drown Award for outstanding services to children at the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts California Chapter conference in Los Angeles on February 11, 2012. The president of the association remarked:

“Matt is the ideal person to honor with the Joseph Drown award. In addition to his practice, he has been a consultant for the American Psychological Association parenting coordination project in the District of Columbia and was a member of the American Psychological Association and American Bar Association working group on legal and psychological interventions with children and families. He epitomizes the spirit and character of a Drown Award recipient.”

October 21st – Minor’s Counsel training in Sacramento

Dr. Sullivan will present on interviewing children in the morning of an all-day minor’s counsel training in Sacramento on October 21, 2011. This training is a response to the new California legislation mandating children’s input be solicited (if over 14) and considered in all family Court processes.
